Tractor with a plow clearing a commercial lot at night in Caledon

Commercial
Snow Plowing

Lots, drive aisles, laneways and loading areas cleared to the trigger depth agreed before the season, with repeat passes through long storms.

Loaders, tractors, skid steers and plow trucks Dispatched on the forecast Trigger depths agreed before the season GPS tracked, radio dispatched

How Plowing Is Scheduled

Every property has a trigger depth written into its service plan. Once the forecast or the site reaches that depth, the crew assigned to your region is dispatched. You do not have to call us.

In a long storm the lot is cleared more than once. Waiting for the snow to stop means pushing a much heavier load, blocking your entrances for longer and leaving a packed base that will not come up.

A clean-up pass follows once the snow has ended, to take back the areas that filled in and open up anything that was blocked by parked vehicles during the storm.

What Happens In A Storm

01

Forecast And Dispatch

We monitor the forecast and dispatch crews to their regions before the snow starts. Equipment is already on site or close to it when the trigger is reached.

02

First Pass

Entrances, fire routes and main drive aisles open first, then the rest of the lot. In long events the crew returns on a set interval rather than waiting for the storm to end.

03

Clean-Up Pass

Once the snow stops, we take back the areas that filled in, clear around vehicles that have since moved, square up the piles and salt the surface.

Frequently Asked Questions

What snowfall triggers a visit?
Most commercial sites are set at 2 cm or 5 cm depending on the property and how it is used. The trigger is agreed before the season and written into your service plan, and a plaza that opens at 7 am is not run on the same trigger as a yard that runs around the clock.
Do you plow during business hours?
Yes, when the storm calls for it. Heavy work is scheduled for your quietest window where possible, but a lot that fills during the day is cleared during the day. We work around traffic in sections.
What happens with cars parked in the lot?
We clear around them and come back on the clean-up pass. If vehicles routinely sit through a storm, we will suggest a notice to tenants or staff so whole sections can be done properly.
Where does the snow go?
Pile locations are agreed in the pre-season site walk and marked on the site map. We keep piles clear of sightlines, hydrants, drains and accessible parking, and relocate or haul them when storage fills.
Do you mark the property before winter?
Yes. Stakes and markers go in before the first snowfall so operators can see kerbs, islands, hydrants and edges once everything is covered. That is what keeps your property from being damaged.
Is salting included?
Yes. Salting is part of the winter service, applied after the plow and between storms through freeze-thaw. It can be bundled into the seasonal price or itemised per application.
